Malaysia is once again proud to play host to the 10th edition of the LIMA Exhibition, which will be held from 1 – 5 December 2009 in Langkawi.

 The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition is the premier destination for aerospace and maritime manufacturers targeting the Asia Pacific growth markets. For nearly 20 years, LIMA has been serving exhibitor needs by assembling key decision makers from the defence, enforcement and civil sectors.

LIMA series of exhibition has proven to be an excellent platform for aerospace manufacturers and related industries to display and promote the latest aerospace technology to senior Government officials, both civil and military and leaders of industries from Malaysia as well as the Asia Pacific region. A unique showcase for both the aerospace and maritime industries in the fast-expanding Asian commercial aviation, airport and defence markets.

 Almost at every LIMA, business deals were clinched as well as memorandum of understanding was signed. The LIMA '07 exhibition for example generated business totaling RM 13 Billion (USD 3.9 billion) through numbers of contracts, letter of offer and acceptance or intent and memorandum of understanding.

The 21,321 sqm Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre will be the venue for both the maritime and aerospace exhibitions for 2009, moving away from a two venue, two organizer structure. HW LIMA Sdn Bhd, the organizer of the maritime component since LIMA ’97, is selected by the Government of Malaysia to spearhead LIMA ’09.

This change is aimed at value creation and will establish an exceptional setting in which to network, achieve sales and facilitate business deals. A single venue will deliver increased visitors to the exhibition, presenting a more cohesive delegates programme, maximising delegates’ time at the exhibition by merging common facilities and abolishing travel time between venues and importantly, reducing cost of participation for exhibitors with dual participation

KUALA LUMPUR 15 May 2008 - The Prime Minister, YAB Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, launched zOOm! Malaysia a domestic tourism campaign for 2008/2009 at the Saloma Bistro in the Malaysia Tourism Centre, Jalan Ampang, last night.

The campaign urges Malaysians to give priority to local holiday destinations and encourages them to look at Malaysia with a fresh perspective. It is set to spark interest among Malaysians and foreign tourists to visit popular holiday spots in the country, as well as lesser-known and new places of interests, thus contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

zoom! Malaysia will create greater exposure for local tourism products and bigger presence for domestic tourism.

The launching of zOOm! Malaysia is in line with the government`s effort to strengthen and stimulate domestic tourism by motivating Malaysians to plan their holidays and explore the diverse attractions within Malaysia, besides encouraging national integration. The campaign will also strengthen alliances with the public and private sectors to jointly promote tourism products, attractions and events.
